...what strikes awe in Leonardo is this promise, a scattering of ideas far ahead of his time and often such that could not possibly have been accomplished with the tools and knowledge available in his time.
...can-do attitude is a big motivational force. It may be more important an element in human life than any other. So many men can't or simply won't accomplish anything only because they think they can't. They succumb to the burden of social or family responsibilities...
Leonardo's attitude to life is an annoying challenge to this...
... Surely, it is extremely discouraging when you chase so many goals and generate so many ideas you yourslef understand that you cannot posssibly accomplish all of them in reality. It destroys you when you realise how true it is when someone close bluntly tells you they are unaccomplishable... and loses trust in you... (Recite Kipling's 'If' here, if it helps)...
Leonardo may not have accomplished much IN RELATION TO WHAT HIS NOTES SEEM TO PROMISE, but even what he has is immensely impressive. Mona Lisa, the Last Supper, Madonna on the Rocks and other paintings, the Vitruvian Man and Squaring the Circle, which is a beautiful decoration for Italian Euro coins...
Sparks flew, and they keep glowing...
